Red Clover Blossoms or Trifolium pratense also known as wild clover, cow clover and purple clover are a native plant of North Africa, Asia and Europe. Red clover is a common low-growing plant typically found in pastures, meadows and other open but undisturbed places. Bees feed on the nectar, while many animals nibble on the flowers and leaf. Collectively, the aerial parts of the plant are dried and used in teas.

In herbalism, red clover is regarded as a tonic herb for women. It is frequently used in traditional Chinese and Indian wellness systems. Red Clover’s isoflavones are considered to be among the strongest phytoestrogens, and are widely used to balance female hormone-related conditions, especially menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes. (Phytoestrogens exert a mild estrogenic action that can be helpful where hormone levels are either low, as in menopause, or excessive, as in PMS and PCOS.)
